DRH Health Awarded a HRSA Grant

DRH Health Awarded an HRSA Grant for Rural Health Care Coordination to Improve Cancer Outcomes

Rural Health Care Coordination Network Program Grant

DRH Health (DRH) has been awarded a Health Resources and Services Administration grant to develop processes to aid in the prevention and improvement of care and outcomes of cancer, one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in our communities.

DRH Health, working with Pathways to a Healthier You, Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma, and the Stephens and Jefferson County Health Departments received $299,626 annually for four years. The program aims to create a care coordination network that will increase access to preventive education, cancer screenings, early diagnoses, and coordination of care for citizens in Cotton, Jefferson, and Stephens Counties.

“Over the term of the four-year award, our program will improve access to cancer services in these counties,” said Grant Project Director Cyndi Crook. “Besides the coordination of care, a concentrative effort will be made to provide education regarding the top cancers affecting our communities and the preventive screenings available to provide earlier detection, thus allowing for better outcomes.”

DRH is one of only ten organizations in the United States to receive funding through HRSA for Rural Health Care Coordination.
